The word protest means To object to, especially in a formal statement.This represents the Constitution in many ways. Countless Americans have complained that their rights are not equal to different people around them . For several years, although people didn't want to admit it, most early American laws favored only white men. Women did not have the same rights as men until the 1920's; that's over 200 years! They protested against their lack of rights, and the protest was called the Women's Suffrage Movement.
